Product Description

The standard bait pouch is worn around the neck via a canvas strap. It has an anti sweat cotton lining ideal for carrying meat baits or maggots and has the capacity to take a couple of pints with ease. When moving between swims, the bag can be closed by a top flap which wraps over and secures with a Velcro strip to prevent spillage. This is obviously ideal for all baits for the mobile angler, but I particularly associate it with trotting for grayling, where regular light feeding is a vital part of the day. An absolute must for the roving meat angler.

Very happy with the product. It is very well made and will last a good few seasons, highly recommended for the fisher persons that long trot whilst wading.

  2. Exactly what I required 5 Star Review

I have just received my new bait pouch and although I have not yet used it I can see on inspection that this will be a useful product and is very well constructed. Having previously used a bait apron, I think the bait pouch will be more superior, here's why. Its a lot smaller and simpler and I can just wear it over my neck. I am 5ft 10" and the length it hangs down is perfect for me, sits just above stomach height. So I can easily, regularly feed with one hand, while holding the rod in the other. The soft cotton lining of the pouch is ideal for keeping maggots fresher and stops them sweating as much. Its also more comfortable to put cold, wet hands and fingers into rather than the nylon pouch I was using. There is a cover over the pouch which serves to keep the bait dry in wet weather and it stops it falling out if you take off the pouch to sit down. My use for the pouch will be maggot only, fishing the stick float for Grayling and the occasional Chub. I won't use it for luncheon meat, but it would hold it just as well. What I really like about a pouch is that I can just put on and take it off easily as opposed to the apron and it also means I can get at my coat pockets easier, where I'll store floats, shots, hooks and mono. It is also easier to clean, just then it up side down and shake out any residual maggots and dust.

On first impressions some might think this an expensive product, let me assure you it is not. It perfect for its purpose and well made, plus it made in England. If you long trot then treat yourself, you'll not be disappointed.
